WIND SHAPED PAVILLION

The Wind Shaped Pavilion is a design proposal for a large fabric structure that can be used as a public or private pavilion. As a lightweight fabric structure, the wind slowly and randomly rotates each of the six segments around a central open support frame. This continually alters the shape of the pavilion, while at the same time generating electrical power for its nighttime illumination.


The shape of the structure starts out as a relatively symmetrical form. Then the wind begins to alter that shape randomly, with only a slim chance of ever returning to its original symmetry.


If the structure's scale and the materials were to change, it could become an apartment complex, and or some other commercial building. In this case, the occupants could take control and rotate the segments to adjust to changing desires or needs, such as weather conditions, best views, etc.

Combining LED lighting with indoor air purification using living plants, the fabulously innovative Green Light by Natalie Jeremijenko, Amelia Amon, Will Kavesh of the Experimental Design Lab is a chandelier, terrarium, and air filter all in one. The system brings clean air, light, AND greenery to your home- three things no one should live without.

The Green Light design kicks off first of our many sneak peaks from this year’s quickly-approaching HauteGreen 2007 exhibition. This smart carbon-neutral system improves the internal air quality of a given room using an integrated solar panel to power a super-efficient LED bulb to stimulate plants of high air filtrating varieties. The entire system is designed with products and parts that are both recycled AND recyclable. Plus, the bulb from the unit provides a lovely glow to any room, giving a new meaning to the words ‘Green Light.’

Flip Flops with a secret stash

First there was the hidden pocket travel sock, then the not-so-hidden fanny pack, the money in the belt, ducets in the tie compartment, all of which looked silly and impractical to me. Then I discovered these flip flops with a hidden compartment. Now we're talking! Inside the sole there is a tray you can use to hide credit cards, keys, money, anything flat basically. All you need at the beach is a place for your car key and some margarita moola for after you hit the waves. Genius!

iArtifact earrings mimic Apple iPod earbuds

Don't count on Ashley Gehman's rendition of Apple's stock earbuds to come bundled in with a special edition iPod anytime soon, but if you're looking to permanently affix such icons to your lobes as a tribute to your fangirlism, these are for you. The iArtifact iPod earbud earrings look to be made from sterling silver, sport the tell-tale dimples across the top, and on top of all that, they're wireless. All jesting aside, these completely non-musical body adornments should light up the eyes of your favorite lady, and while these haven't gone commercial just yet (probably some papers left to sign regarding that whole Made for iPod agenda), we could definitely see these things selling like hotcakes in Apple stores worldwide
